Anoki has reaffirmed its commitment to the training and development of young people, after becoming a sponsor of Derby College’s new ‘When I am’ apprenticeship campaign.

We’ve chosen to sponsor the engineering apprenticeship competition, as Anoki owner, Naveed Khaliq, originally studied for a degree in chemical engineering at Loughborough University before embarking on a career as a restaurateur.

Naveed explains why Anoki is backing Derby College’s ‘When I am’ campaign:

“Apprenticeships give young people the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification and develop valuable skills while earning a wage – and we are delighted to be involved in this campaign with Derby College, which does a fabulous job in training the county’s young people.

“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to help 16 – 24 year olds take the first steps on their chosen career path and with an increasing number of employers recruiting apprentices, there are more opportunities that ever before for young people to follow a work-based route to a skilled occupation, supported by on-the-job training.”

"Apprenticeships are good for businesses too – providing businesses with the skills they need to grow and build a successful business,” added Naveed.
